acdc’s FUSION 48 floodlights have illuminated the dome at Manchester’s Trafford Centre, a shopping venue like no other.
The huge structure - based on the dome at St Paul’s Cathedral in London - is an iconic landmark that can be seen for miles.

The FUSION luminaire’s job was to increase that visibility.
The customer (looking to improve the existing LED solution) wanted to use a product that was powerful enough that the dome could be spotted from the city’s international airport (we suspect you might even see it from space now!).
Before the project kicked off, the concept was fully modelled, proving the lighting design and demonstrating the luminaires’ positioning.
72 FUSIONs (our surface mounted powerhouses) were then installed in groups of three. Each section featuring three different optics – super narrow, narrow and medium – to create a phenomenal lit effect.
