Creating drama in the hours of darkness.

Alongside a series of specially commissioned artworks, visitors can journey through pathways, discovering sculptures and artefacts that are revealed by subtle lighting and shadows.

A leading role

An historic site with ecological issues (including the local bat population) meant a careful approach to lighting was needed. Ground recessed and floor mounted luminaires took the leading role in this project.

Light show

In the garden’s restored Elizabethan knot garden, a more balanced approach was taken. acdc’s Plaza 10 surface mounted, adjustable luminaires draw attention to landscape elements and illuminate trees, while wall recessed floor washers were incorporated into perimeter hedging and a pergola structure.A contrasting duality in the day and night-time character of the garden has been created.
A nod to Shakespeare’s own blurred distinction between dreams and reality.
