As attractive to locals as it is to tourists, intu Victoria underwent a £42 million transformation to keep the centre stylish, contemporary and the place to be.

The upgrade was a major task – staircases were removed, walkways opened up and (most importantly) new lighting installed.
Not forgetting – the centre had to remain operational. Works had to be carried out as quick as possible with minimal disruption, maximising those out of hours periods.
Lighting Designers Hoare Lea wanted to create a modern, bright and dynamic visual impression using linear lighting.
The obvious answer – acdc’s ORELLE (3,000 metres of it).
It’s compact, offers fresh, 4000k white ambient light, excellent colour rendering and five different length options. But what helped seal the deal for this project was acdc itself.
Hoare Lea’s Senior Lighting Designer, Chris Fox explained, “Aside from being able to offer the right lighting solution for this project, one of the reasons we chose acdc was because we were confident in their ability to manage a large order. They held high levels of stock and were able to provide a quick delivery … the lighting has met all our expectations and has played an integral role in transforming the intu Victoria Centre.”
